Lauren graduated from Brigham Young University's dietetics program in 2008 and has worked with eating disorders since 2008. She received her Master's of Public Health from Brigham Young University in 2015. She is currently working toward a Body TrustⓇ certification through the Center for Body Trust and strives to help clients feel empowered when experiencing weight and cultural bias. Her passion is to help clients work toward healing their relationship with their bodies and food. She demonstrates the ability to create a safe space where her clients can feel comfortable opening up about their eating concerns. Her gentle approach is to meet clients where they are at with compassion and to be direct in helping to challenge misconceptions related to food. She is an advocate for harm reduction in clients’ efforts toward eating disorder recovery. She enjoys helping clients to understand the various challenges with eating that may come from having ADHD or neurodivergence, and then helps clients to develop practical skills for food planning and preparation that are tailored to individual food preference.
Lauren also has expertise in nutrition counseling for polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), fertility issues, and gut health concerns (often related to the eating disorder or other diagnoses such as various dysautonomia issues). She also enjoys providing sports nutrition counseling for high school and collegiate athletes or others who engage in a high level of physical activity who may struggle to adequately meet their caloric needs.
